Our new home with the snowcapped Sierras behind.

California quail abound here.

Finches and sparrows sunning themselves in our pine tree.

Alyssum blooming in Hannah's window boxes has just about succumbed to the frost.

Lisa loves watching the birds in this feeder that hangs just outside the kitchen window.

Frost "art" on the porch light.

A "Fall" welcome on our front porch.

We have made a huge number of changes to our house including solar panels to not only offset costs, but also to take advantage of all the Nevada sunshine and to be a bit more independent of "the grid."

For Halloween we did some role switching - Christy was Little Red Riding Hood, Hannah was the Wolf, and Caleb was Granny. We had a lot of fun with it.

Hannah and Caleb's Jack O'Lantern's glowing on our porch.

"Granny" Caleb tired from all the trick or treating.

Lisa and Caleb's birthdays are just two days apart so they shared the same special birthday cheesecake. Caleb is now 12 and Lisa is a young 51.

Caleb, the puzzle guy, got a really detailed dot-to-dot as one of his birthday gifts.

Lisa showing off her new gloves from Bob. Her old "Handy Andy" gloves were almost worn out, so Bob thoughtfully got her some new ones (among other things).

Bird life abounds in the Carson Valley.

A couple of robins in a neighborhood tree.

In September we attended the the renowned Reno Air Races and got VIP treatmet with pit passes, a catered lunch, and all the amenities, because of some work Bob had done for the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority . It was a super day - we even got to sit with the mayor as we watched the planes zip by.

Mike Brunson stayed with us while he was teaching a class in Reno. Bob and Mike hiked to the top of Mount Rose which is located just south of Reno and is the second highest peak in the Tahoe Basin region. The view was limited because of smoke from a number of wildfires, but they still had a really great day together. We so appreciate our friends and love it when they come to visit.

A panorama Bob shot from the top of Mount Rose. You can see how smoke from the wildfires blanketed the surrounding area.

Lisa amazed at the spectacular view of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding mountains as seen from the famous Flume Trail.

Our family also attended an airshow at the Minden Airport where we enjoyed a great performance by the famous Air Force Thunderbirds.

The Thunderbirds performing.

Flying in formation.

Our good friends from Henderson, the Morettos, stopped by for a visit. It was so good to see them! We are thanking for lasting friendships over the miles.

Lisa enjoying her walk in the woods.

Bob and Hannah hiked up to a high meadow and got a beautiful view of the backside of Freel Peak, the highest local peak in the area.

Taking a break.

Even Christy went with us and had a great time, but was happy to ride on Bob's back when she got tired.

Up the trail we go.
