Bright and early on June 5th, Bob, Hannah and Tristan Bailey set out to hike a section of the famed Tahoe Rim Trail (TRT) that circumnavigates the beautiful Lake Tahoe. Lisa came along as the vehicle shuttle person and only hiked the first couple of miles with the group before hiking back to the car.

Bob and Lisa pause a moment to savor the morning's stillness and the beauty of this section of the TRT from Kingsbury to Spooner Lake.

Beautiful views are everywhere when you are hiking the 165 mile Tahoe Rim trail.

The famed "bench" on this section of the trail is a great place to take a rest and some photos.

Views of Freel Peak, Jobs Sister and Jobs Peak. Bob climbed all three of these in a day with his friend Steve Hamilton in 2017, and Freel with the whole family in 2018.

It's great to be out on the trail!

An interesting plant, the Snow Flower has no chlorophyll. It derives nutrition from fungi underneath the soil and for this reason the plant is called "mycotrophic". It is a distinctive bright spot in the spring landscape of the Sierras.

Pink and white woodland phlox blooms along the 13.5 miles of this amazing hike. We are glad that we spent some time in the woods.
