Adam and Lee waiting in the boat for us to get things together for our first full day out.

Danielle Cannam, our other camp host and Shawn's fiancé (he proposed during our stay -- lucky us), seeing us off on our first full day out.

Josh with a nice Pike and soon-to-be shore lunch. We kept only a few fish for meals and released the rest.

Danielle and Shawn preparing a wonderful shore lunch.

Josh casting for Pike.

Dave with a nice Lake Trout.

Andy with a nice Lake Trout. Notice the bite marks from an even larger fish on the tail of this one; probably made while Andy was reeling it in.

Myself with a somewhat smaller catch but fun nonetheless.

Dad and Dave -- nothing but smiles!

Now it's my turn to smile the morning of the 3rd day. This was the biggest Pike I caught and the tie with Adam for the trip.

There are two cabins at the Wignes Lake camp. This is the smaller one the boys (grandson's) stayed in.

This is the larger of the two cabins where we did all the cooking. Wignes is actually an outpost camp for the much more upscale Scott Lake Lodge where everything is catered and guided. We opted for the less expensive and more hands-on version of Canadian fishing.

The view of Wignes Lake from the hill behind camp.

After a couple of days of good weather a storm moved in and the lake was too rough for fishing. So we hiked inland to a couple of little lakes not too far from camp and had a great time shore fishing for pike.

Dave having a great time with a mouth full of "Spitz" (sunflower seeds) and catching "hammer handle" Pike.

Shawn the "Fillet Master" preparing another great lunch.

Some of the beautiful mushrooms growing in the spongy tundra of northern Canada.

The end of another wonderful day.
