Wignes Lake lies just north of the Saskatchewan border in the Northwest Territories. To get there you must first get to Saskatoon and then fly about 600 miles to a little town called Stoney Rapids. In Stoney Rapids you transfer all your gear to a Beaver or Otter Float plane and fly another hour north to Wignes Lake.
|
After almost 2 days of traveling by various means, our float plane lands on Wignes lake.
|
It took two float planes to transfer us and our gear from Stoney Rapids to Wignes. I took this picture of the first plane taxiing into camp.

Unloading gear and getting ready for a great time.

Still wanting to get in a little fishing the day we arrived. Here's a picture of Jim and his two sons Alex and Lee on a beautiful evening jigging for lake trout.

Adam with a nice Northern Pike being held by our camp host, guide, and friend, Shawn Campbell.

Heading back to camp for our first night.
