In February we celebrated Bob's 65th birthday. It's a big one, Happy Birthday Bob! |
As is our tradition, we open birthday presents in the morning before everyone heads off to school or work. This is the collection of fun gifts Bob scored for his birthday. |

Chester helping Bob blow out candles. Only six candles, 65 would be way too many! |
The big score for Bob this year was getting to lead another river trip down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. We led this trip before in 2015 and ever since then Bob has religiously put in for another permit and was notified by the Park Service (almost exactly a year ago on February 22, 2023) that his application had been selected. The Park Service, however, doesn't issue the official permit until all their requirements are met and fees are paid. That was now behind us and we were issued this official permit giving us permission to launch on April 16th to go on another one of our favorite adventures. |

Lisa in front of the same tent we took down the Grand in 2015, a Sierra Designs Bedouin 6 Tent. A great tent and still in great shape. |
The other big event we got to celebrate at the beginning of the year was Hannah's birthday. This year she turned 23 and is doing just great. |
Our lovely daughter. |
Hannah is incredibly fun loving and loves to have fun. One of the highlights for her this year was the new Barbie movie. Go figure... :) |
