Our family spent Memorial Day 2021 in the hills hiking a local favorite, Ralston Peak (9,235 feet).
Here we are surrounded by beautiful views near the top of Ralston.

Caleb has been very involved in the Theater program at Sierra Lutheran High School, but this Spring he actually got to Direct a one-act play.

The play was a murder mystery titled, "The New Mrs. Jones". He did a great job and it was so fun watching him as a Director.

Caleb also performed (in the chef's hat) in a Dinner Theater fundraiser for the school. It was nice to be able to attend in person after a year off because of COVID-19.

May 11th was the Honors and Awards night at Sierra Lutheran High School. Caleb received awards in Theology, English and Theater, as well as a shared entry college scholarship to Valparaiso University.

Bob chose to spend Easter Weekend with his Mom. This was their first Easter without Bob's Dad and it was good to be together.

A visit to Herb Potts' gravesite in Churchill, Montana.

While visiting his Mom, Bob took her for a day trip ride through Yellowstone National Park. It was a wonderful time together.

While in Yellowstone Park they got to see a lot of wildlife including this buffalo bull that was standing right along the road.

On March 27th Caleb participated in his first cross country regional meet and the first ever at Sierra Lutheran High School.

Caleb and his team did well, and Caleb was pleased to come in 15th in his division with 45 other runners.
Throughout the year Caleb was an asset to his team and was awarded the Falcon Pride award for cross country.

Caleb loves to run and has enjoyed training with the cross country team the last year and a half. It was something they could all do and enjoy during the pandemic.

Hannah turned twenty on January 24th. This was a favorite outdoor themed card from her Dad.

Hannah enjoyed opening her presents at our traditional breakfast birthday celebration.

A special card from Grandma Potts.

Happy Birthday from Caleb!

This winter Bob started on a very special woodworking project - a reloading bench in honor of his Dad who passed away on October 27, 2020.
Bob and his Dad both enjoyed the sport of precision shooting and it actually worked out quite well even though they lived 850 miles apart. Bob's Dad had time to reload and Bob helped him work up the loads. It was a great hobby they shared together. Now that his Dad is gone, Bob has chosen to carry on in part to honor his Dad.

Bob designed and built this bench himself. He has gotten to be quite the skilled craftsman. He enjoyed adding a lot of special details to this project.

Staining boards for the bench - a good dad and daughter project.

Stained boards waiting to be assembled. The "Gunstock" colored stain adds a truly special touch.

Looking nice!

While he was at it Bob also built a matching gun rack to sit next to the handloading bench.

The finished project looks amazing in Bob's office/reloading room.

The epitome of a western workshop - elk horns and all!

On June 18, Kris Sanchez, Bob's co-Deputy Director at the Governor's Office of Economic Development, came up to Carson City from Las Vegas to visit and spend a Saturday together shooting. Bob, Caleb and Kris first went to the rifle range to try out some reloads, and then later broke out the shotguns to shoot some clay pigeons. The guys had a great weekend together.

This project was truly a labor of love! Bob and his Dad had really established a special bond over the last few years doing shooting and ammunition handloading. Bob had this plaque made and attached to his finished reloading bench.

Bob's Dad, Herb, and his Uncle Jim Danhof, doing some target shooting in Montana last fall, only a couple of months before Herb died. He was a special guy and will truly be missed.
