On May 31st Caleb officially graduated from the 8th grade at Bethlehem Lutheran School here in Carson City. He was very happy to be done with the 8th grade and is looking forward to being a freshman in high school next year at Sierra Lutheran High School.

A bit earlier in the month Hannah graduated from the 11th grade at Sierra Lutheran High School. Here she is pictured with one of her favorite teachers, Danika Neal. If you didn't know better, you'd almost think they were sisters.

Hannah being recognized with the other student body leaders at Sierra Lutheran's Honors and Awards night. This was the first year Hannah served as the Student Body Secretary and she has already been elected again to serve next year when she'll be a senior.

May 13 was Mothers Day and we started it by celebrating Lisa, a really great Mom!

Lisa's Mothers Day cards, from left to right are the ones she received from Bob, then Caleb, and then Hannah's.

May 5th was prom at Sierra Lutheran and Hannah was asked out by Tristan Bailey, one of her classmates. Tristan is a great guy and he and Hannah seem to be really hitting it off.

Of course Christy had to get in on the photo action with Hannah and Tristan.

Hannah and some of her girl friends all dressed up for Prom.

In April, Bob and his good friend Mike Brunson spent a spectacular week canyoneering and site-seeing through the amazing red rock country of Southern Utah.

It was an amazing whirlwind adventure putting on over 1,100 miles in eight days driving through Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Capital Reef National Park, Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, and Natural Bridges National Monument.

Enjoying (???) Ireland's rainy weather.

April 4th, 2018 was a beautiful day in Northern Nevada so we decided to take the day off and go skiing. Hannah was unable to join us because she was on an adventure of her own with friends from our church on a mission trip to Ireland.

As before, we decided to go back to the Diamond Peak Ski Resort just outside of Incline Village because it's close to home, never busy, and the views are spectacular. It was a perfect day and great place to help Caleb get his ski legs under him a bit better.

Bob thoroughly enjoying a day on the slopes.

Lisa and Bob enjoying a break at the Snowflake Lodge while Caleb decided to go on and do a bit of skiing on his own; he's really getting the hang of it and we were very proud of him.

Beautiful Lake Tahoe as seen from the the Snowflake Lodge at the Diamond Peak.

In March we received a number of big snowstorms so we took advantage of them and enjoyed a number of activities including a day snowshoeing around Spooner Lake. Joining us on this trip was our good friend Chris England who snapped this picture of us at Spooner.

All smiles in the beautiful winter landscape of Northern Nevada.

Bob took this winter picture of our backyard blanketed in fresh fallen snow.

Hannah and Lisa taking advantage of a snowy day to build a rather grumpy looking snowman.

Christy peeking out from behind her new friend.

In the park right next to our house is a small hill where the kids always have fun on snow days doing a little sledding. Of course, Christy has to come along but she has to endure going on rides she'd probably rather not. Bob caught this picture just as Hannah and Christy started their run.

As they pick up speed, so does the excitement for Hannah and the "what am I doing here" looks from Christy.

And, as often happens, they take a spill at the end of their run. Click this image for a better look at the funny expression on Christy's face.

One of the things Bob did this winter was rebuild his Grandma's (the kids' Great Grandma's) bike. Both Lisa and Hannah love cruising around on it in our neighborhood.

Christ loves riding on Grandma's bike too.

Hannah all dolled up for Sierra Lutheran's Homecoming event on January 20th.

On January 24th we celebrated Hannah's 17th birthday.

Hannah loves to be outside so one of the things she and Lisa did before celebrating that evening was to spend part of the day snowshoeing.

Hannah having a great day outdoors on her birthday.

After a great day snowshoeing, Lisa put together a special birthday dinner with cards and gifts for our birthday girl.

After dinner we brought out the cake, sang Happy Birthday, and let her blow out the "many more" candles.
