Snow came fairly early this winter so we decided to risk the crowds and go skiing over Christmas break when all of us could get a bit of time off.

Once again, we decided to go to the Diamond Peak Ski Resort, our favorite family resort in the Tahoe region. As it turned out, it wasn't at all crowded and we had a really great day skiing and enjoying the amazing views.

Joining us was Hannah's boyfriend, Tristan Bailey.

All smiles between runs.

April 4th, 2018 was a beautiful day in Northern Nevada so we decided to take the day off and go skiing. Hannah was unable to join us because she was on an adventure of her own with friends from our church on a mission trip to Ireland.

As before, we decided to go back to the Diamond Peak Ski Resort just outside of Incline Village because it's close to home, never busy, and the views are spectacular. It was a perfect day and great place to help Caleb get his ski legs under him a bit better.

Because of the incredible amount of snow Northern Nevada received this past winter, many of the ski resorts were able to stay open much longer than usual. In fact, Mount Rose received the most snow in North America for the 2016-17 season and was able to stay open through the Memorial Day weekend. We took advantage of the opportunity and had a spectacular day skiing on the 27th of May.

Joining us on the gorgeous day was our good friend Chris England. Chris put together a really great video of the day that can be viewed HERE.

An amazing panoramic view of Lake Tahoe from the Snowflake Lodge at Diamond Peak.

We were told this location had been awarded "the 4th best view from a ski resort in the world!"

This is good!

One of the great things about living in Carson City is that we are within an hour drive of 14 world class ski resorts. The closest to our home is Diamond Peak which is only about a half-hour away.

This is a picture of Lisa and Hannah at Diamond Peak on a "Bluebird" day.

Although Bob and Lisa grew up skiing in Montana, the kids have little experience with skiing growing up in southern Nevada. Here, Lisa is giving Caleb tips on how it's done. It won't be long and he will be passing Dad and Mom up.

Lisa all smiles.

Hannah doing great getting her ski legs under her.

What a beautiful setting.

It didn't take Lisa long to get back into the skiing groove.

Our "ski" kids.

On her way back up again!
