When we arrived at the confluence of the Little Colorado River (Mile 61), the Fish and Wildlife Service were conducting a Humpback Chub survey. Here they're measuring, weighing and tagging one of the fish they caught. The Humpback is one of the native species to the Colorado and is now endangered because of the drop in water temperature from Glen Canyon Dam. They only exist at the confluence because of the warm water of the Little Colorado River.
