Looking up the Walters Wiggles switchbacks that make their way up the cliff wall. |
Hannah hiking up the Walters Wiggles switchbacks named in honor of Walter Ruesch, the first custodian of the Zion National Park around the time it was built in 1925. |
Looking down the cliff wall from Scout's Lookout to the Virgin River and Zion Canyon far below. |
Hannah all smiles at Scout's Lookout. Our daughter loves to be outdoors. |
After leaving Scout's Lookout we start up the steeper "chained" sections of the hike. Caleb was a bit nervous at first, but soon got used to it and climbed on like a champ. |
Moving through the steep sections. |
The "chain rail" added security to the most exposed and narrow section of the hike. |
This place brings back great memories and we still love being here together. The first time we hiked/climbed this route was 25 years ago and was the first "real" Outdoor Adventure we shared together. |
Lisa and Hannah all smiles. |

It's no wonder this place is one of our favorites. |

A different view of the route to the summit of Angels Landing. In the distance you can see Scout's Lookout just above the dark red wall in the middle right of the picture. |
Caleb, much more confident that when he first started up the chains. We were very proud of him. |
A thousand feet below us a Zion Canyon shuttle bus stops at the Big Bend turnout. |
Not nervous now, even at the most exposed and narrow section of the trail. |
Looking back to where we had come from. |
A rest stop and picture of our family near Scouts lookout. What a great day! |
