Our 2025 Christmas was a little different than in previous years because we actually had two of them instead of just one. Our first Christmas was spent with Bob's Mom and his extended family over Christmas and our second was here in Carson City with the kids over New Year's Day.

We really hadn't planned on going to Montana for Christmas because Bob had just been there with Hannah in September, but between mild weather and good roads, grandma mentioning that she had no plans, and Lisa wanting to see her, we decided it a good thing to do.

In the end it was a wonderful road trip with good roads, great audiobooks, beautiful scenery and a wonderful time with Grandma Potts and Bob's brothers followed by a wonderful, gift opening time and game playing day with Hannah and Caleb.

Bob and his brothers Dave and Jim holding up the white oak "Whiskey Barrel mugs" that their other brother, Andy, had hand made for them for Christmas. So cool!!!

As with all visits, the hard part is when you have to say goodbye and drive away. It was a wonderful time!

As we do most mornings, we enjoy our morning walks together.

Hannah caught this picture of us starting out 2026 right.

Before opening gifts, Lisa made the wise decision to let Chester go first so he could be distracted with his new rawhide chew. It worked great, he was preoccupied the whole morning.

Caleb is a huge fan of all of J.R.R. Tolkien's work so he was pleased to get this Atlas of Tolkien to help him navigate Tolkien’s fictional universe.

Lisa and Hannah loving their Mini Cross Stitch Embroidery Kits from Bob.

All together and having a wonderful time.

Bob happy to get WAG Bags because they are going to be an important part of equipping upcoming river trips we hope to take in the coming year.

Caleb loves running so he was excited to get a new pair of HOKA running shoes and an Apple Watch to track his runs.

Hannah was excited because she got new shoes too, Blundstone Original High Top Boots. She has been wanting these for quite some time.

Gifts for Bob this year were all about equipping the new/used river raft he took home after his Desolation and Gray Canyon River Trip in October. This is a seat cover for the front dry box to make it more comfortable to sit on.

Our family all together enjoying a wonderful (second) Christmas.
