On October 21st Hannah and Bob got to enjoy a beautiful day hiking in the Carson Pass area of the El Dorado National Forest. This picture was taken of Hannah early in the hike near Frog Lake.

Hannah heading off to another beautiful day in the Sierra Nevada.

A happy gal on the trail!

Bob enjoying a brief stop at Round Top Lake in the shadow of Round Top Mountain.
Seeing the remains of the glacier's path through this area was truly awe-inspiring.

Round Top Mountain (to the left off camera) is the highest point in the Eldorado National Forest at 10,381 feet and was stunning to see.

Bob at the trail junction near Round Top Lake. We continued from this point to Fourth of July Lake and then came back to take the other route to Woods Lake and then back to the truck parked at Carson Pass.

Hannah all smiles with lovely Fourth of July Lake down below.

What a wonderful day to be out together on a dad-daughter adventure.

Bob at the boundary of the Mokelumne Wilderness. This area was widely traveled by Snowshoe Thompson, an early resident of the area who would deliver mail on cross country skis.

Wow! What a tree!
Both of us were pretty sure this was a Jeffrey Pine which tend to get very large.
In any case, this is where Hannah in very much in her natural element.

Such a beautiful day out together enjoying God's natural world.

Overlooking the area we just walked 9.1 miles through. What a great day!

On the 16th of October we loaded up the kayaks to go for a paddle on Spooner Lake. It's only about 20 minutes from where we live and one of our favorite places to visit.

Chester is Lisa's little adventure pal and is always up for a challenge.

A perfect fall day to enjoy some time together.

We couldn't ask to live in a more beautiful place.

Dad and Daughter on another adventure.

Heading for home.

Caleb took his first break from dorm life the second weekend of October and we decided it would be fun to go for a short family hike on Sunday afternoon around Spooner Lake.

Hannah and Bob enjoying the cool fall weather.

The entire family out on the trail. This has been such a wonderful year with so many adventures. We can't wait to see what's next.

Go Potts Team!

Hannah with Tracy Shane. Tracy was her boss this summer and this picture was taken of them at an outreach program where they were part of an education forum on drone usage.

Bob with Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg at a reception event to accept a $25 million grant to build an inland port infrastructure in the town of Fernery, Nevada. This was a huge accomplishment and opportunity for this small community east of Reno on I-80.

Bob and Hannah regularly go to the shooting range. It is so fun getting to hone their marksmanship skills together.

Careful handloading has really started to pay off in our accuracy at the range. It is so much fun for each of us to see more and more improvement each time we go to the range.

Of course there has to be some goofing off too. Here Hannah is fooling around on the spotting scope. It is always so much fun to be out together.

So much fun!!

With a good rifle, precision hand loads, and quite a bit of practice we're starting to get the kind of grouping we like to see.
This grouping is five shots in a half-inch at 100 yards from the 300 Winchester Magnum Bob's Dad gave him a couple of years ago.

Dad and Daughter -- the smiling adventure duo. :)

The first weekend in September Bob flew to Montana to spend a few days with his Mom celebrating her 89th birthday. It was a wonderful time spent enjoying each other.

One of the things Bob's Mom likes to do is go on long rides, so they spent one day touring all through Yellowstone National Park. It was a great day visiting and enjoying one of the most beautiful places on earth.

This picture was taken just after entering the park at the West Yellowstone entrance.

Be sure and click this picture for a full panorama of the Yellowstone River with buffalo grazing on the banks as it flows through the Hayden Valley.

Enjoying a rocking chair break on the porch of the Old Faithful Inn waiting for Old Faithful to once again erupt.

Old Faithful starting another eruption.

Getting Caleb all ready to move-in to his dorm at the University of Nevada, Reno. We are so proud to see him start his college career as a Mechanical Engineer.

Really proud parents with their awesome son. It's a new adventure for Caleb and one he's going to excel at.

Caleb getting all set up, meeting his roommate, and putting everything in place to start his time in college.

Caleb with the president of UNR, Brian Sandoval.

President Sandoval used to be Bob's boss when he was Governor Sandoval and so Caleb ran up to him during one of the first week's events, introduced himself, took this selfie and sent it too Bob. What a guy!
