After school let out in June, Hannah went to Montana to spend a couple of weeks with Grandpa and Grandma Potts. She had a wonderful time doing a bunch of stuff from planting flowers with Grandma to fishing with Grandpa. Here's a picture of our beautiful Hannah and her very proud Grandpa out on his fishing boat.

Joining Grandpa and Hannah on their fishing outing were two of her Great Uncles, Jim Danhof and Bob Korthuis -- Three old guys and a cute girl, how fun!!

Bob attended a conference in Denver the second week of June and flew to Montana when it was over to visit family and pick up Hannah for a road trip back to our home in Nevada. While they were there together, Bob's brother Dave had everyone over for barbecued ribs. This a picture of Hannah with some of her Montana cousins enjoying the great meal Dave had put together.

After dinner the kids got to messing around with Dave's old tandem bike and had a blast. Here Dave's son, Adam, is taking his younger cousin, Hannah for a wild ride.

And next came Dad's turn with Hannah in charge. Bob should have been the one panicking, but it was obviously worse for Hannah. What a fun time!

Another great meet-up was with some of Bob's very best friends from his cowboying days, Ray Ansotegui and Pete Melniker. Here they are enjoying breakfast at Perkins with Bob's plate of eggs benedict in the foreground. Eggs Benedict at Perkins has a special memory for us as it's where we ate (and what we ate) on our wedding morning, June 23, 1990.

Another fun thing we did while in Montana was sight in rifles behind Grandpa's house.

Sighting in her rifle paid off for Hannah as she made a one-shot kill of this pesky woodchuck Grandpa had been wanting to get rid of.

Part of the reason Bob went to Montana after his conference was to supervise Hannah as she drove most of the way back to Nevada to get the required miles needed to convert her learner's permit into a real driver's license.

Along the way they took a number of breaks including one at beautiful Shoshone Falls just outside of Twin Falls, Idaho. Shoshone Falls is one of the largest falls in the United States. It is 900 feet wide with a vertical drop of over 200 feet.

Caleb has been volunteering a lot of his time and audio/visual expertise at our Church and most recently for a Jonny Diaz concert. We're very proud of how well he does and his willingness to help others.

At the end of May, Bob's parents visited us for almost a week. They are doing quite well for being in their mid-80's and we had a really great time with them.

While they were here we took a number of drives including one to Slide Mountain and the Mount Rose Ski Resort where there are remarkable views of the Washoe Valley.

Another fun thing we did while Bob's parents were here was to visit the Nevada State Railroad Museum. We had a great time looking over all the locomotives and cars of the famous Virginia and Truckee Railroad and learning about the history and impact railroads had on our state and the country.

Because of the incredible amount of snow Northern Nevada received this past winter, many of the ski resorts were able to stay open much longer than usual. In fact, Mount Rose received the most snow in North America for the 2016-17 season and was able to stay open through the Memorial Day weekend. We took advantage of the opportunity and had a spectacular day skiing on the 27th of May.

Record snows have led to record lake and reservoir levels. In this image you can see where Washoe Lake now is on both sides of Highway 395, the main road between Reno and Carson City.

One of our winter projects this year was to rebuild a couple of used kayaks a friend of ours wanted to get rid of. They needed quite a bit of work, but it was a fun project for Bob and Hannah. In the end, they came out great and promise to be a lot of fun for our family this summer.

On May 16th we joined a number of other proud parents at Hannah's High School Honors and Awards night where Hannah received a number of awards. In this picture she is being recognized as the newly elected secretary for the student body.

The last Saturday of April we spent most of the day hiking and geocaching around the Davis Creek Campground. It has been so fun for our family to find all the great outdoor recreation opportunities in the area. Here we are geocaching in short sleeves right below Slide Mountain where people are still skiing.

Our great kids!

On April 14th our family headed back up to the Diamond Peak Ski Resort for another spectacular day of skiing.

Here we are at the beginning of our "Blue Bird" day in a family selfie.

Happy Hannah on her first ride of the day.

Joining us on the gorgeous day was our good friend Chris England. Chris put together a really great video of the day that can be viewed HERE.

An amazing panoramic view of Lake Tahoe from the Snowflake Lodge at Diamond Peak.

We were told this location had been awarded "the 4th best view from a ski resort in the world!"

This is good!
