On a beautiful Saturday morning we went out to our neighborhood park so Caleb could fly his new quadcopter drone. While there Hannah got this great shot of the drone with Bob in the background.

Caleb is getting to be quite an expert drone pilot. He can even make it do flips in mid-flight!

Flying high in the sky.

We've learned that it's really important that there is no wind when flying these light drones else, like a kite, they will quickly disappear and be lost. This was an especially beautiful day and a great time to fly.

Caleb continues to work on flying his drone in "headless" mode. It's trickier to fly the drone in this mode because you can fly in any directions not just forward.

Caleb, at 12 years old, is honing skills he will use in the future. Bob thinks it's even great preparation for learning the hand-eye coordination used when driving a car. Learning and fun - what a great combination.

In this series of shots Lisa looks on while the drone heads towards her.

Getting closer.

Just a little too close for comfort - don't want a "drone haircut!"

This year our sweet Hannah turned 15. We started her special day, in Potts family tradition, with a birthday breakfast party.

Hannah loves tools. Among her birthday gifts was a Ryobi electric screwdriver she had been eyeing during one of the dad and daughter "dates" to Home Depot.

In honor of Hannah's 15th birthday we took her out snowshoeing in some of the beautiful backcountry just south of Carson City in nearby Hope Valley. Unfortunately Caleb couldn't join us, because he was at home dealing with a flu bug.

Our girl Hannah. We are so proud and happy to have her as a part of our family.

Mom and daughter.

Dad and daughter.

What a great time in this beautiful place.

As it turns out our move to northern Nevada was well timed because snowfall in the backcountry is currently 130 percent above average. This is quite a bit different, and welcome relief, from the previous four years of drought.
