One of our favorite places to camp is Death Valley National Park in the late winter/early spring.
It is a wonderful time of the year to enjoy this quiet, unhurried and beautiful place.

Caleb taking advantage of the downtime to read a favorite book.

Some of Hannah's creative and appealing photography.

Keeping the water bottles full.

Hannah's photo of one of the old wagon wheels at the abandoned Borax mine in Death Valley National Park These wagons were used by 20 mule teams to haul tons of Borax miles to the railhead.

The stark and beautiful desert.

Caleb hiking near "Artist's Palette" where there is a unique mix of different colored mineral deposits all in one place.

Dad and son out biking together. If you look close you can see the dog riding in a backpack on Dad's back.

Caleb loves camping!

And so does Hannah.

Cooking burgers over an open fire. It doesn't get any better than this!

On a beautiful February day Bob and the kids joined our good friend Shannon Peavey and his kids for morning of geocaching in Red Rock Canyon.

Geocaching a lot of fun, doing it in a place as beautiful as Red Rock Canyon makes it really great.

Hannah with her buddy Clara Peavey at the first find of the day.

Clara and her Dad with Turtlehead Peak in the background.

Clara checks out the water in one of the Tenaja's (Spanish for rock bowl) from recent rains.

And leaves a short-lived hand print in the sandstone.

Caleb and his good friend Allistaire taking a break at the Tenaja.

And then having some fun. What a great time.
