In February we packed up the camper and the kids and headed to Death Valley for our annual campout. Here we are ready to go.

Christy loves being a camp dog. The more days we camp, the more she becomes the color of the dirt.

Our camp setup.

A breakfast in camp. It was a bit windy this trip, but always great to get out.

Our family has gotten into the sport of geocaching. Here is Hannah and Caleb hunting for a geocache on Bob's birthday (February 16th) in Valley of Fire.

On January 12th Bob hiked Goldstrike Canyon with our good friend Bruce Barton. Here is a view from the Colorado River of the new expansion bridge.

There are hundreds of hidden geocaches, even in residential areas. Using the GPS, Bob, Hannah and Caleb hunted down one in our neighborhood in this January. Here's the kids with one of the prized trinkets found in a cache.

Red Rocks Conservation Area is a great place to hunt for geocaches. Hannah and Caleb are just opening one called "Fred Flintstone was Here".

Caleb loves geocaching! With GPS in hand he leads the way up Hidden Canyon to the next hidden treasure.

In each geocache is a running log of who found it. Lisa is signing this log with the Potts' family geocaching name "Base_Camp".

Part of the excitement of geocaching is what treasures will be inside. The rules are: if you take a trinket you must replace it with one of your own.

Hannah and Caleb love finding these treasures. Plus it gets you out exploring in areas you wouldn't have gone otherwise. It's an adventure!

Bob and our good friend, Frank Nason, enjoyed a beautiful day hiking Fortification Hill. It is an extinct volcano overlooking Lake Mead.

Beautiful view from the top of Fortification Hill.

Christmas 2012 was a fun family time for us.

Here's Hannah and Caleb and Christy amidst the wrappings.

The biggest hits for Christmas presents this year were a pair of remote control helicopters from Dad. The kids, and Dad, had a great time flying them all over the house.

Hannah gave Caleb a very special present that brought tears to his eyes. You can't beat that for Christmas!

Hannah and Caleb by the Christmas tree. Our tree was the best ever and so long lasting. We even kept it up until Hannah's birthday on January 24th!
