Red Rock Canyon (December 1, 2012)

For our Outdoor Adventures this year we decided to have two rock climbing outings. We held our first outing in March at Keyhole Canyon and decided to hold our second at Red Rock Canyon for a little variety.

One of our favorite places to take folks climbing in Red Rocks is in Calico Basin at Cannibal Crag. There a number of routes varying in difficulty that are easy to protect and watch from the ground. This is a picture of some of our gang on the west side of Cannibal Crag.

A big part of these days is staying focused and alert while teaching and encouraging.

The reward is a great time outside with smiling friends.

Hannah Potts took this creative picture of the climbing rope stacked at the bottom of the route.

...and one for his good friend Mike for safely belaying his daughter. ☺

For all of us at different ages and skill levels, it was a great way to spend a beautiful December day together.
