Lisa at the anchors at the top of the 300 foot entry rappel in Englestead Hollow. Near the bottom of the picture is the last member of the team that was ahead of us rappeling from the bolted anchors about 90 feet from the top for those who choose to split the entry rap into a couple of stages. We had two 300 foot ropes and did the full rap from the top.

A close-up of the previous image from across the head of Englestead Canyon.

Our friend Mike Brunson hooked up and ready to slide into Englestead.

On his way down the long first rap into Englestead.

Leaning over to take this picture of Mike heading down was a bit "airy".

Lisa nervously ready for the entry rap.

On her way.

When we tried to pull our ropes they moved about 2 feet and then became stuck. I'm sure we would have been able to free them, but were fortunate that another group showed up to descend behind us and untwisted our lines. Apparently the knot and biner block got caught in a twist between the anchor and cliff edge. With the weight of 300 feet of rope it was hard to pull the knot and biner through the twist. Again, thankfully, the team behind us just freed the twist and we were on our way.

Heading down the short second rap in Englestead.

Lisa having a great day!

Next up, a beautiful 120 foot fluted rappel. CLICK HERE for a video clip of Lisa making the beautiful 120 foot rappel in the entry section of Englestead Hollow. CLICK HERE for a video clip of Mike doing the same.

Very happy to be here.

"Shooting Stars" in the Canyon.

PARTNERS

Some of the beautiful flowers in Zion.

The team ahead of us had a sense of humor and coiled this dead Red Racer at the anchor of one of the lower raps.

Going over knots. This picture was taken where Englestead and Orderville, another beautiful Zion slot canyon, intersect.

Bob and Lisa in Orderville Canyon.

Orderville has some of the narrowest, deepest canyon sections I've ever seen.

Mike at the "Guillotine", the only technical section in Orderville Canyon.

Lisa and Mike in the Narrows of the Virgin River. Another thing that makes this such a great trip is that you get to do three different Zion Canyons -- Englestead, Orderville, and The Narrows.

Back home with our wonderful kids helping me clean ropes in their kiddie pool.
