This is a picture of Mike Brunson approaching the first rappel in Birch Hollow.

October is really one of the best times to visit Zion National Park because the colors are spectacular.

Bob set up for the first rap in Birch Hollow.

Birch Hollow is a great canyon just outside of Zion National Park so no permit is needed and neither is a car shuttle. When you first start heading down canyon it doesn't seem that great but then it slots up quite nicely.

The first section of Birch Hollow.

In all there are nine rappels in Birch Hollow ranging from 30 to 100 feet with a number of short down climbs.

Even with a number of recent rain storms we found the canyon to be dry.

Most of the technical portion of Birch Hollow is like this.

There are a couple of beautiful flutings like this one in Birch Hollow.

As you get closer to the junction with Orderville Canyon, Birch Hollow starts to look more like this.

Two friends having a great time!
